To give you some inspiration, way back when I was a kid, I remember watching over my big brother's shoulder on the computer.  I was so fascinated by the machine, how to worked, what the pieces did to fit together to whirr, buzz, and beep.  Out of this fascination, my love for computers was born.
Later, unbenounced to me, I would take that a step further and enter the world of cyber security which is my current path.

How to Become an Entrepreneur - What it Means For You As a Person

This is a question many of ask ourselves as we start thinking about becoming an entrepreneur: How do we become an entrepreneur?  I'm going to be real with you, it's difficult as f***.  But, it's worth it when you find passion for something greater than yourself, conviction for what you believe in, and persistence to see it through.  Let's take a look at each.
Passion - This is a key ingredient when even deciding if you want to be an entrepreneur.  My example, for instance, is I crave helping people.  It's been built in to my personality for as long as I can remember.  I think back to when I went to school for IT and when the other students were struggling with the coursework.  I would jump at the opportunity to help them out.  I didn't do it for the attention, I did it because I wanted to.  Trust me, I wasn't always right either.  The fact of the matter was I had a passion which continues to grow daily.
Conviction - You have to have this when you have made a decision to become an entrepreneur.  Believe in yourself, believe in the whole idea of an entrepreneur, imagine yourself as you see fit, not what others see you as.  This is difficult, especially when you experience setbacks.  You think to yourself negative thoughts and that's when most people quit.  Don't.  Fight that urge because when you fail you learn what not to do next time.  It took me years, years to see this.  Don't give up.
Persistence - This last ingredient goes along with conviction.  You can't just go full steam ahead for a week and then crash or move on to another idea.  I've made that mistake more than once.  Part of it was because I have ADHD and I think about several ideas at once and it's hard for me to focus.  I would say over the past year, I really started to slow down and let fate take its course so to speak.  I've seen better results with this method, too.  As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day.  We all want it to be because we see popular websites with thousands of pageviews and followers.  We don't realize it may have taken them years to accomplish that feat.  So, take it easy grasshopper!
So, to wrap up this post, we've talked about three keys to your entrepreneurial door: passion, conviction, and persistence.  These will launch you forward and allow you to achieve results more than you ever thought possible.
Now, get out there and kick a hole in the moon!

The Hardest Part is Starting

Through my journey as an entrepreneur, I found it was very difficult to start.  Just start.  Make the mental processes connect to consciously make an effort.  Not because I was lazy or anything, but because I was afraid of failure.  Alot of my experience with being an entrepreneur stemmed from failure.  This may sound weird but our failures ultimately show our strengths.
It took me years to realize this concept.  Some people learn slower than others.  This doesn't mean you are slower or less intelligent than another person.  It means you learn at a different pace than others.
Another hard concept was accepting that it's okay to have someone criticise your work.  By having an extra set of eyes, you gain a different viewpoint from a viewer.  So while the start is the hardest part, it's worth it in the end.

Whats the Deal about Traffic?

This is a topic I've wanted to talk about for a long time.  Traffic seems to be the golden key to all the success for blogs and getting tons and tons of likes, comments, etc.  Right?
Wrong.
Here's why.  While traffic is very helpful and I am not diminishing the fact that you need quality traffic generation techniques, my recommendation is to focus on what you are writing about.  I may even go against alot of conventional thoughts but I believe if you make the content relatable, that's what makes the blog popular.
Why do we listen to certain music or watch our favorite shows over and over each week?  It brings us something that speaks only to us, so it seems.
That is my goal in structuring this blog.  I am talking to the individual, the man or woman sitting in a chair at the airport or someone browsing my blog on a subway at 4:56pm. This blog is for you. If I can touch one person's life in a positive and beneficial way, I've done my job.  It all ties into being an entrepreneur.  As much as I want to change the world, let's change my world first and see how it impacts the world I live in.
So, to wrap this whole blog post, I'm not worried about getting a billion followers by Friday.  I want to focus on the individual person.
Help me help you.  Share your thoughts on traffic and how it relates to entrepreneurship.  I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

What's in an Entrepreneur?

You know how we sometimes ask ourselves, what's in a name?  Well, when I started my journey I remember watching a special on the History Channel about the Railroad Era and the entrepreneurs that started that expansive undertaking.  I was immediately drawn to those individuals, not because of the amount of wealth they acrued, but the positive risk they took by sharing ideas and finding a problem to fix.
This is what I think about when I hear the word entrepreneur.  A person or group of people who actively find a problem and eventually solve that problem with a solution that truly changes the structure society lives upon.
According to a direct Google search the definition of Entrepreneur:
"a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so."
Let's think about this for a second and add it to our context of the railroad show from the History Channel.  In that respect, the definition fits perfectly.  However, I would add intellectual risks as well.  What do I mean by an intellectual risk?  This is a term I use to describe the mental processes we go through subconsciously when taking the financial and other risks entrepreneurs take in all aspects of their business.  I would go as far as saying the intellectual risk is more impactful and sometimes more stressful than the financial burden.
This is just one of the many factors that make up an entrepreneur, in my opinion.  It took me seven years to actually sit down and decide to write this blog because I want to show people what it really is like from a personal standpoint.
In a greater sense, just as the individual entrepreneurs were building the railroads, they were also building their internal tracks as well.  Who knows, maybe that's where the idea came from? Something to think about.
Let's hear you're thoughts on the matter; share with me if you agree or disagree and why.
